Helio Bailly Guimaraes
Unit Head Naval ArchitectureAs an enthusiastic Naval Architect, part of the Delft-based Naval Department since 2014, I am delighted to be involved in so many of the company projects. It never gets boring; working in the office behind a supercomputer; on site with heavy lifting or pipelay; programming new software or consulting with industry experts; travelling for operations; modelling and running real scale tests on the biggest vessel in the world; it is exceptional. It only gets better when we see the successful results.
Diverse work, cultures and backgrounds
The work is interesting and diverse; within the department, we assist numerous projects from the vessel perspective, motions, propulsion, stability, workability, modifications etc. Allseas has a brilliant team of diverse cultures and backgrounds, who share the passion and enthusiasm for the work we do. It couldn’t be different, check these innovative projects we are involved with: installing long and complex pipelines, removing old platforms, installing new ones, cleaning the rivers from plastic.
Major offshore operations
I have been fortunate enough to be directly involved in major offshore operations – three removals and three installations; more than 330,000 t of topsides steel lifted by the in-house developed Pioneering Spirit. Not only an opportunity to put my experience to the test, but a chance to learn a lot.
It’s a great honour to be part of history making projects. I look forward for more years of intensive learning, developing and breaking records with Allseas team.
