Your role

We are currently looking for a Mechanic Engine Rooms (ER) to join the crew of our flagship Pioneering Spirit.

As a mechanic ER you will execute repairs and maintenance on engineroom equipment under supervision and guidance of the Second Engineer ER or First Engineer ER.

Primary your will work will be, but is not limited to, overhauling Diesel engine components like cylinderheads.

In this role your tasks will be to 

  • Act as per standing instructions;
  • Conduct all activities and tasks in accordance with Allseas’ corporate objectives and policies;
  • Familiarise with and comply with Allseas’ Integrated Management System (AIMS);
  • Promote a safe and healthy working environment within all Allseas premises;
  • Ensure all personal documentation, such as passport, seaman’s book, medical certificate and safety (STCW) training certificates, is kept up-to-date, valid and will be hand carried on board in original;
  • Be alert and execute the “Stop the job authority on any workplace activity on the grounds of immediate safety, health and environmental hazards”, and inform the responsible manager immediately.

What we expect from you

To be successful in this role you have

  • General technical mechanical education on MBO level 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Mechanic o/b seagoing ships or offshore industry;
  • Experience with Ship’s Engine Room equipment like diesel engines (MAN, Wartsila), pumps
  • Good command of the English language
  • Sufficient practical skills in machining
  • Skills in different welding processes are a pre
  • Completion of all safety/trade training as per Allseas training matrices, or willingness to conduct this

Besides this, you have a flexible and decisive mindset and good communication- and teamworking skills.
