We are currently seeking a (starting) PLC Programmer with experience in designing and developing control systems and PLC programming to join our Control, Automation and Monitoring unit, part of our renowned Innovations Department in Delft, the Netherlands.

Your role

Part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary R&D team, you design, develop and implement control systems and develop PLC software for new engineering solutions and processes that advance the capabilities, performance and efficiency of our record-breaking vessels and equipment.

As PLC Programmer, you program existing PLC, HMI and SCADA systems, evaluate the capabilities of existing tools and systems according to current demands and recommend improvements. You prepare analysis, design calculations, parameters and/or sketches for new systems, write and execute test plans and ultimately commission new equipment, and provide the necessary engineering support to end users.

This challenging role offers a chance to work on a variety of projects all over the world with some of the industry’s most capable and advanced systems. 

What we expect from you

You have experience with the configuration of automation networks,have a hands-on approach and total focus that means you quickly grasp the overall picture. Dedicated and self-assured, you thrive in a team environment but are happy to go it alone when necessary. You possess excellent English and Dutch skills, and are excited by the opportunity to work on assignments offshore and abroad.

Ideally you have:

  • Degree-educated in Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
  • 0-3 years of experience with PLC programming (Siemens Step7, TIA portal,) and SCADA systems (Siemens WINCC)
  • Sound understanding of electrical drawings (single line, loop diagrams)
