Your role

You will play an important role in the development of new welding techniques to address the growing demand for complex pipeline projects. You will be part of a team of welding experts working in the R&D Department of the Innovations Division. 

In your daily work as Welding Research Engineer, you will speak often with the end-user within the company and formulate a research plan in support of future operations. You will apply your theoretical knowledge to research existing solutions and pursue new ideas. As a result you will build prototypes to turn these new ideas into working welding machines. Furthermore, you will be in close contact with the vessel crew, in support of operations.

What we expect from you

You have a MSc degree and are an experienced researcher in the field of welding and metallurgy. Besides that you are strong in both the theoretical as well as the practical. You have a pragmatic approach and like building prototypes to put your theories to the test. 

To be successful in our team and organization you bring:

  • Welding Metallurgy and Fracture Mechanics experience.
  • Affinity and experience with practical welding.
  • Excellent systematic thinking skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and push the technology forward.
  • Good communication skills, fluent in English, team player.
