The QHSE department covers aspects of Quality, Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment throughout the organisation. The international team consists of multiple disciplines; compliance, continuous improvement, QHSE engineering, quality control, regulatory and quality assurance. The department supports the on- and offshore organisation with implementation and improvement of a multi-faceted management system (Allseas Integrated Management System, AIMS). The system encompasses a safety management component (International Safety Management, ISM), a component for product quality management (ISO9001) and a component for environmental management (ISO14001). 

Your role

As a Sustainability Manager your focus is on contributing to sustainable processes at Allseas, in line with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and relevant Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related frameworks. You develop and maintain policies, governance structure, sustainability initiatives and targets. As a Sustainability Manager, you need to have a good understanding of the ESG aspects and how they affect our business operations. You need to be aware of the latest trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and ESG. 

Thhe Sustainability Manager reports to the Manager QHSE.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Define Sustainability policies, strategy and framework in line with CSRD.
  • Preside Allseas ESG Committee, including quarterly reporting on performance of KPIs, targets and Actions of ESG topics.  
  • Supervise and motivate the Sustainability team
  • Inform on developments on directives and legislation regarding ESG topics in the EU and operating countries.  
  • Develop internal competencies in Sustainability as a knowledge centre in order to increase the coherence implementation of Sustainability principles throughout the company.  
  • Manage the Stakeholder Engagement process and actively engage with stakeholders to promote understanding of each other’s needs, policies, and strategies.
  • Promote Sustainability policy and Actions to internal and external stakeholders with the focus on clients, partners and suppliers, attend conferences.
  • Collaborate with corporate communication department to develop internal and external communications strategy and messaging to promote Allseas Sustainability strategy and framework.
  • Identify the principal adverse impacts connected with Allseas’ operations and value chain
  • Develop and manage an organisation for implementation of Sustainability Actions in relevant Functions, Operations and Offices throughout Allseas.
  • Support, engage and collaborate with the Finance, Social & Environmental Functions.
  • Collaborate with functions to meet client and/or projects ESG requirements. (Innovations, Operations, Project Management, (Q)HSE, Technical, Finance) 
  • Collaborate with Finance function for reporting of ESG KPIs to meet ESRS requirements. 
  • Support assessment of the operational risks/opportunities and financial impact of changing environmental and social legislation on current and future operations.  
  • Approve the estimated financial and cost impacts of the Action plans.
  • Implement the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)

Additional tasks would be: 

  • Informs internal stakeholders on ESG related rules and regulations
  • Supports communications internally and externally
  • Promotes ESG in company culture
  • Oversees ESG action programmes and initiatives (e.g. Human Rights due diligence in Supply Chain)
  • Reports ESG results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepares sustainability reports

What we expect from you

  • At least three years of experience with ESG, GRI, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), ISO or other sustainability initiatives within a company.
  • Experience with managing sustainability initiatives.
  • Understanding of ESG standards, practices, and regulations.
  • BSc or MSc in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability Studies or Business Administration is desirable.
  • Good communication skills with an ability to connect and interact in a positive manner.
