For an extensive conversion of one of our main vessels and some smaller vessels, we have an opportunity for a senior project planning engineer with experience in the marine or shipbuilding industry.

As senior planning engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining the schedule for -the more complex-  programmes, projects and/or work packages. Working with project managers and cost controllers, you ensure a range of stakeholders are involved in the development and maintenance of (baseline) schedules.
Part of the senior planning engineer’s time will be allocated to the continuous improvement of our planning practices by further developing, standardising and automating our systems and processes.

Your role

  • Complete the current level 3 schedule (engineering and procurement already detailed to level 4).
  • Develop the level 5 conversion program for the main vessel (including demolition, installation, R&M works, commissioning and sea trials);
  • Develop the conversion programme for the supporting vessels;
  • Create project scenarios (also on P90 / P10 readiness dates), separate offshore schedules and mobilisation plans;
  • Issue initial schedule(s) internally for review and/or approval;
  • Create high profile reports for publication, such as project bar charts, histograms, s-curves and burn down charts;
  • Maintain the schedule, gather and enter progress and forecast and report to project team and  management;
  • Review and integrate subcontractor schedules;
  • Interact with seasonal schedule planner in order to synchronise projects’ timings and durations;
  • Liaise closely with the cost controller for sharing project information;

What we expect from you

  • BSc or MSc degree in the (mechanical/civil) engineering area;
  • 6+ years experience in preparing, monitoring & supporting project planning within an offshore environment;
  • Excellent knowledge of planning/scheduling techniques, resource planning and earned value management;
  • Advanced Excel skills;
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Risk Analysis software and MS Project.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
