In order to strengthen the Crewing Department in our office in Essen (Belgium) Allseas is looking for an HR Crew Consultant. 

Your role

As an HR Crew Consultant, you will join the Crewing Department and take care of HR related matters for the assigned discipline team. Thus, you will be the single point of contact for the Vessel Management Team (Master, Chief Engineer, Superintendent) and the crew members assigned to you. 

 

Concretely, you will mainly focus on the following tasks: 

 

  • You will prepare and implement the Request for Personnel (RFP) process as required by the relevant discipline department;
  • You maintain regular contact with the Recruiter concerning search for candidates;
  • You liaise with the discipline departments to ensure all job description are up-to-date;
  • You attend selection interviews with applicants;
  • You evaluate and record the assessment results of each employee together with relevant discipline department;
  • You identify potential strengths and weaknesses and discuss follow-up for their crew package;
  • You manage and monitor career plans, including development steps;
  • You manage HR Crew related matters within the crew Management System;
  • You liaise with HR Offices & Yards on HR processes;
  • You manage and administer absence, sickness and reintegration;
  • You maintain an up-to-date handbook, standard operating procedures and checklists of procedures.

What we expect from you

In order to be successful in this role, you should recognize yourself in most of the following criteria:

  • Most importantly, you are very hands on and know how to prioritize multiple tasks in a hectic work environment
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is desirable
  • You have a bachelors (or HBO) degree in HR or a related field, or you obtained a similar level by experience
  • Experience in a marine/offshore environment is a plus, but not a must
  • You have good knowledge of the most common MS Office applications
  • You possess excellent communication skills in English, Dutch is a great asset.
