Design Engineer - Pipeline Engineering

The Design Engineer works within the Pipeline Engineering Department. The department is responsible for a variety of disciplines including design, fabrication and installation, in preparation for and support of pipeline EPCI projects. With sufficient experience and knowledge gained (in depth or general) and proven capability in the field, the Design Engineer may be eligible for the title of Senior Design Engineer at the discretion of the supervisor and Management.

Job objectives

Carry out or co-ordinate design activities for the preparation and successful completion of pipeline design activities, in a safe and cost effective manner. This may include solutions related to contracts, tenders, research and development, business development and/or improvements to engineering departmental standards, methods and guidelines.

Your role

  • Prepare budget and schedule for all design engineering work for the projects;
  • Perform detailed calculations and simulations using the appropriate computer software;
  • Prepare scope of work and ITT package for pipeline design related activities;
  • Co-ordinate/execute assigned projects in a most effective and efficient manner;
  • Manage/co-ordinate subcontractor works with the Allseas related disciplines, and ensure the work is carried out according to the specific requirements of the particular project;
  • Ensure the Unit Head Pipeline Design receives regular status updates on the progress of work;
  • Maintain and process project files and documents in view of audit requirements both internal and external;
  • Act as a primary point of contact for all design related matters relating to the project;
  • Prepare relevant input for the engineering close out report;
  • Provide input and feedback to improve departmental standards, working methods and guidelines.

What we expect from you

  • BSc or MSc degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience would be an advantage but is not considered a prerequisite.
  • Fresh graduates/ junior engineers are welcome to apply to this vacancy.
