Geotechnical Engineer - Australia

We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our project office in Perth, Australia. Working closely with our engineering and project management based in Delft, the Netherlands, the Perth office is responsible for securing new work, and preparing and executing construction projects in Australian waters. Allseas has a 20-year track record of serving the Australian energy industry, leveraging our offshore expertise and deep-water technology to help clients realise their field development goals. 

The Geotechnical Engineer works within the Geotechnical Unit, which is responsible for the engineering of all trenching and dredging, rock dumping and anchor holding activities. You are an expert in DP pipelay in S-mode and thrive by sharing your experience and knowledge to further enhance the team. 

Your role

As Geotechnical Engineer you possess excellent theoretical and practical geotechnical know how. Your tasks include analysis of subsea soil data, evaluating subcontractor proposals for trenching, dredging and rock dumping works, calculating holding capacities for pipeline start-ups, writing procedures and providing offshore support for trenching and dredging works. 

What we expect from you

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with excellent knowledge of Allseas’ equipment procedures and pipelay interfaces to contribute to our team in Perth. To succeed in this role you are a results-driven team player, with a hands-on mentality. 

Additionally

• Master in Geotechnical Engineering 
• Experience in soil data analysis 
• Engineering experience in trenching, dredging, rock dumping and anchor holding capacity
• Experience as field engineer involved in mechanical trenching and trenching by jetting 
• Proven track record in DP pipelay in S-mode, nearshore pull ins and shallow water (anchor) pipelay
