Assistant Project Manager - Australia

We are looking for Assistant Project Managers to join our project office in Perth, Australia. 

Working closely with our engineering and project management base in Delft, the Netherlands, the Perth office is responsible for securing new work, and preparing and executing construction projects in Australian waters. Allseas has a 20-year track record of serving the Australian energy industry, leveraging our offshore expertise and deep-water technology to help clients realise their field development goals. 

The Assistant Project Manager works within the Project Management Department and is responsible for the management of major offshore projects executed for energy companies worldwide. These challenging and unique projects typically consist of an offshore installation period of several months and several years of preparation time to perform design, engineering and construction of offshore equipment. 

Your role

Assistant Project Managers manages work packages in compliance with the applicable management systems and governing rules and regulations in such a way that these are delivered on time and within budget, to the required operational, quality and HSE standards and, most importantly, to the satisfaction of the client.

In this role you

• Act as primary contact for the work packages towards the client, authorities and subcontractors
• Prepare and manage the work packages in accordance with project execution plan
• Co-ordinate all project activities required to successfully deliver the work packages and achieve best performance for the entire organisation
• Ensure smooth transition between different project phases and functional handover
• Ensure outstanding project safety performance
• Review and approve all project documents and project purchases
• Support project related internal and external cost reporting
• Identify and prepare concessions, queries, and variation order requests, and evaluate changes to the contract and subcontracts from a technical, schedule, contractual and commercial perspective
• Supervise preparation of as-built documentation and input into project close out reports
• Leverage know-how to provide first class customer service and satisfaction
• Promote and support continuous improvement activities within the Project Management Department 

What we expect from you

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer motivated to develop and contribute to our Perth team. To succeed in this role you are a results-driven team player, with a hands-on mentality. You are analytical, accurate, flexible and service oriented. 

Besides this you have

• BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering
• Minimum 8 years offshore installation experience, including DP S-lay, dredging, trenching, rock dumping and subsea installation work with several years as installation or field engineer
• Minimum 3 years in a senior project engineer/assistant project manager position
• Good contractual, negotiation and people management skills
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
• Good communicator, developing and maintaining constructive relationships internally and with your counter parts in client organisations and other external parties
• Excellent English skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to travel and work offshore
