An exciting opportunity has arisen for a young and enthusiastic Trainee NDT Engineer to join our Pipeline Production Department (PPD) in Delft, the Netherlands. This Department is responsible for the definition and preparation of all offshore welding, non-destructive testing (NDT) and field joint coating activities.

The Unit NDT Engineering is responsible for execution of NDT work carried out on the Allseas' Vessels. Through a three-year program, you will develop and achieve Level 3 NDT Certification. After these three years, you will be an independent engineer to ensure that all NDT activities, with a focus on AUT, are timely and economically prepared to support the pipelay vessels in accordance with project requirements.

Your role

In three years you will gradually grow into the full responsibility of the NDT Engineer, which is:

  • Develop qualification, validation and project specific inspection;
  • Provide technical input for AUT system set;
  • Review set ups and AUT data and give feedback;
  • Monitor the daily progress of ongoing production on board vessels and/or at work sites and, where necessary, intervene to resolve any NDT related issues;
  • Provide technical training and guidance to offshore personnel;
  • Evaluate and manage the maintenance, repair and supply of NDT equipment and consumables for projects, liaising with suppliers, contractors and project teams:
  • Monitor and improve performance for inspection and NDT services, ensuring that assigned projects are managed in accordance with applicable company, environmental and safety procedures;
  • Provide technical support to managers regarding status of NDT services for future projects and identify areas of improvement within the PPD.

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor degree Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Strong affinity with the NDT working field and the offshore environment
  • Hands on mentality;
  • Proven extra interest in the following subjects: AUT system qualification, project validation and common standards and specification for AUT. Make sure you have something to tell about these subjects;
  • Willing to work offshore and abroad occasionally;
  • Good language and communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
