We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Electrical/Mechatronic Engineer with extensive hardware experience to join our multidisciplinary R&D team in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Part of our wider Innovations Department, the Eindhoven team focuses on the development of (offshore) measuring equipment and the robotisation of inspection and production processes.

As an Electrical/Mechatronic Engineer, you are responsible for the design and development of complex AUT equipment, and automation using industrial robotics. You co-operate closely with colleagues from other disciplines in a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for someone with proven experience with rapid/proof-of-concept prototyping and real-time control software and operating systems, who sees it as a challenge to take up new things and explore new tools and techniques.

Your role

  • Participate in the full development lifecycle from proof-of-concept to production environment
  • Design and develop (concepts for) inspection and measurement equipment, in collaboration with Mechanical Engineers and Software Engineers
  • Follow Agile (Scrum/Kanban) engineering practices
  • Improve and evaluate existing processes, systems, tools and components
  • Keep up-to-date with the relevant trends in electronics, control and robotics

What we expect from you

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Self-critical and self-correcting
  • Solid knowledge of rapid/proof-of-concept prototyping, robotics, automation; knowledge of PLC programming and signal processing is considered an advantage
  • Quality-driven team layer looking to test and enhance skills in a dynamic and challenging environment Passionate about hardware and robotics
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel
