An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and accurate Material Controller to join our Material Management Department in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The Material Management Department is responsible for an important part of the supply chain within Allseas: The inventory control and material storage/distribution process, for both equipment and project-related materials. The Material Controller reports directly to the Unit Head Material Control.

Supply chain management within Allseas, is carried out by the department Material Management, Procurement and Chartering & Logistics.

Your role

  • Process material orders and prepare shipments for delivery to vessels and/or project locations as required;
  • Provide project specific material control procedures and documents;
  • Monitor, inspect and register all inbound/outbound stocks;
  • Provide regular updates to project teams and/or internal disciplines about tracking and tracing of materials;
  • Oversee the storage of required project materials, under required conditions;
  • Initiate, develop and execute plans and procedures to improve existing material, equipment and inventory control processes, both on-shore and off-shore;
  • Attend vessel mobilisation for verification and inspection of project materials received at the site;
  • Attend vessel demobilisation and complete a material reconciliation of all materials upon the completion of a project, and oversee the storage, disposal and/or return of surplus materials.

What we expect from you

  • BSc degree with a logistical/supply chain or technical background;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with material control and inventory handling processes;
  • Knowledge of logistics/supply chain, inventory control and inventory management systems;
  • Good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken;
  • Willingness to travel.
