General Ledger Accountant

We are looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance Department in Delft, the Netherlands. Our young and dynamic team is responsible for all financial matters for the Dutch Allseas affiliates. This department has direct lines with our Group head office in Switzerland.

You will play a major role in our quarter and year end close process. You will prepare complex account reconciliations and ensure they accurately support the general ledger account balances. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to providing accurate and timely financial information, who thrives in a dynamic, established company and has the ambition and drive to further professionalise our department and set standards high.

Your role

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of bookkeeping for quarter and year end closing including financial reporting to our HQ for the Dutch Allseas affiliates
• Reconcile payroll administration
• Review of weekly payment batches and bank reconciliations
• Coordinate financial audits, prepare audit files and statutory annual accounts
• Develop and improve financial procedures and maintain good cooperation with internal departments
• Perform ad-hoc analytics and reconciliations to support other departments
• Prepare monthly VAT filing and statistic reports (CBS)
• Participate in continuous improvement projects within the finance department;

What we expect from you

• Bachelor in Accounting or Finance (HBO)
• 5 years’ experience as General Ledger Accountant in both a dynamic and international oriented environment
• Extensive experience with complex ERP-systems (preferably Oracle EBS 12)
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of Dutch GAAP, VAT regulations and payroll accounting
• Highly organised, accurate, pro-active, eye for detail and hands-on
• Effective communication skills and customer service approach
