Allseas’ offshore construction vessel Pioneering Spirit has a current order book for numerous topsides and jacket removals as well as platform installations, and several platform preparations campaigns. As a Heavy Lift Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary Agile team with creative Heavy Lift Engineers, Structural Engineers, Naval Architects and Draftsmen/women. This team is overseeing the concept, basic and detailed engineering phases for the projects in Allseas portfolio, ranging from the heaviest topsides and jacket lifts to date and associated platform preparations campaigns. Basically, all the engineering required for a safe and economical project execution by Allseas heavy lift fleet, utilizing the topsides lift system, jacket lift system, 5000 tonnes crane and support vessels capabilities.

Your role

Our Heavy Lift Engineers have a wide range of tasks covering the provision of technical solutions as well as writing operational procedures and provision of offshore support. This includes the design of topsides and jacket lift plans, destruct zones, (subsea) separation scopes, conductor removal, load transfer operations, platform preparations, crane operation and associated rigging, provision of client design input.

As a Heavy Lift Engineer you are responsible for:

  • Design and engineering; provision of solutions to facilitate the project with safe, reliable and innovative designs and procedures.
  • Support and stakeholder management; working in a multi-disciplinary team environment aligning your work with the Project Engineer and various stakeholders. Contribute to departmental development. Provision of offshore support during project execution on vessel or yard.
  • Preparation of documentation for projects covering the technical solutions, calculations, method statements and operational procedures ensuring they meet safety, performance and regulatory standards for class and/or client approval.
  • Gain in-depth understanding of concepts and principles within your discipline and a basic knowledge of these elements in other disciplines.
  • Setting an example to others by drawing conclusions based on criteria, facts and previous experiences in complicated or novel situations.
  • Contribute independently and educate, coach and technically supervise team members.
  • Interfacing with various disciplines (project team, vessel crew, clients, subcontractors, certification authorities, marine warranty surveyor) to define efficient and cost effective solutions and provide ongoing engineering support.
  • Staying up to date with the development of specialised equipment for installation operations.

What we expect from you

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Maritime Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Relevant 7+ years’ experience in the offshore sector
  • Willing to travel and work offshore
  • Affinity with the offshore and marine environment is preferable
  • Interest in developments in the industry
  • Team player who is motivated to take on technical challenges
  • Self-starter with creative and good analytical skills
  • Fluent in English
