The NDT Co-ordinator works within the Pipeline Production Department (PPD).

Allseas’ Pipeline Production Department (PPD) consists of five units: Welding and Materials Engineering, NDT Engineering, Coating Engineering, Equipment Engineering and Production Engineering. The department is responsible for the development, qualification and implementation of pipelay Welding-, NDT and Field Joint Coating (FJC) procedures in line with the agreed client specifications. Next to the activities related to the pipelay projects, the PPD is involved in the construction of structures, modifications and repair of vessels and platform preparations for heavy lifting by means of the development and verification of welding-, NDT- and coating procedures.

The NDT Co-ordinator is assigned to safely, timely and economically prepare the equipment required for the NDT activities for the Training Centre (TRC) and pipelay vessels, ensuring compliance with project requirements. The NDT Co-ordinator provides specialist know-how and is responsible for co-ordination and verification of the NDT equipment, project materials and NDT consumables. The NDT Co-ordinator liaises between vessel(s) and work site(s), client, project team, departments, subcontractors and suppliers, as well as other business partners. Depending on the work volume and complexity anticipated, the NDT Co-ordinator will be assigned to one or more projects. The Senior NDT Co-ordinator will be assigned to the more complex projects.

Your role

  • Identify, improve and verify NDT equipment in a safe, timely and efficient way, including documentation, client approval and third party verification, as required for the project;
  • Initiate the process of improving NDT equipment;
  • Consults the NDT Services Department and NDT subcontractors regarding the feasibility on the use of the NDT equipment in specific conditions, environment and applications;
  • Co-ordinate adjustments, modification and fabrication of NDT equipment and project specific materials as required for the project;
  • Quality checks and certification of project specific calibration blocks by means of mechanical and ultrasonic measurements;
  • Supervise the calibration and verification of NDT equipment and consumables in accordance with the applicable safety and environmental procedures, rules and regulations as applicable on the vessels and work sites;
  • Develop procedures in accordance with codes and standards for in-house verification of NDT equipment;
  • Communicate with the NDT Engineers, NDT Services Department, Equipment Department and Unit Head NDT regarding timing and duration for the use of NDT equipment, project materials and consumables for current and upcoming projects, including the preparations of material requisitions;
  • Check and maintain stock levels in co-operation with heads of technical departments and maintain adequate stock based on min-max levels per warehouse;
  • Inspect items for defects and damages. Report and log any discrepancies;
  • Organise stock, maintain inventory and ensure efficient space utilisation;
  • Identify areas for improvement of NDT activities and assure adequate follow-up.

What we expect from you

  • MBO level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Hands on mentality, pragmatic thinking.
  • Willingness to work regularly on onshore and offshore locations /  Prepared to work occasionally/ frequently on onshore and offshore locations.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken.
