Senior Data Engineer

To expend our Data & Analytics team in Delft we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to provide cutting-edge solutions to help businesses harness the power of data and make data-driven decisions. Your role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing robust data solutions that power our data-driven initiatives. You will be responsible for managing complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality and reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and leverage the latest technologies in the field of data engineering.

Other job specific tasks:

• Design, develop and maintain the worldwide Allseas Smart Data Platform (SDP);
• Develop, maintain and improve the data lake, pipelines (e.g. ETL) data marts and visualisations;
• Manage Data Types (SQL-relational, streams, semi- and non-structured) coming from many data sources like ERP, ECM and IoT (sensor data storage);
• Apply general security rules and policies provided by the Allseas IT Security team, apply RBAC to the data lake, data marts and data visualisations;
• Apply Quality Assurance aspects such as (automated) testing principles;
• Design D&A solutions conform Data Platform Architecture standards provided by the Allseas IT Architecture team.

What we expect from you

You are an enthusiastic data engineer who likes to work at challenging projects. You have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You have strong communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Besides that, you have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field;
• Knowledge of AI and machine learning principles and concepts;
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Engineer with a strong track record with SQL relational databases and preferably TSDB-technology (Influx);
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience with Data Landscapes, preferably Cloud Data Platforms running state of the art tooling for data lakes, data pipelines (such as DBT), data marts, visualisation (PowerBI) and meta data management (ArchiMate);
• Knowledge of business processes and continuous improvement principles and you are familiar with Agile, Scrum and Lean working methods.
