We are looking for an enthusiastic QHSE professional who is motivated to learn and contribute to our team in Perth. To succeed in this role you are a results-driven team player, with a hands-on mentality. You are analytical, accurate, flexible and service oriented.

Working closely with our engineering and project management based in Delft, the Netherlands, the Perth office is responsible for securing new work, and preparing and executing construction projects in Australian waters. Allseas has a 20-year track record of serving the Australian energy industry, leveraging our offshore expertise and deep-water technology to help clients realise their field development goals.

The QHSE Manager works within the QHSE Function, which is responsible for a variety of disciplines and plays a crucial role in identifying areas of improvement and implementing processes and systems to improve performance as it relates to quality, health, safety and environmental practices.

Your role

As a QHSE manager, you will support and advise project teams, departments, vessels and yards on quality, health, safety and environmental matters, drive the implementation and execution of QHSE initiatives and safety culture programmes and actively contribute to our environmental sustainability strategy.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Actively contributing as a key member of the Project Leadership team and consistently demonstrating the Company’s values and standards to the wider team.
  • Implement and maintain our QHSE Integrated Management System
  • Ensure the HSE team coaches the site project teams in positive HSE observations and inspections to ensure the highest level of HSE culture.
  • Work with clients to deliver the outcomes necessary for a safe and effective project execution
  • Build and maintain strong, cooperative, and respectful working relationship across all stakeholders, including regulators, the project team and delivery partners. 
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to Project Team members and delivery partners to implement approved HSE plans and documentation. 
  • Setting clear targets to demonstrate action regarding non-conformance, incidents and injuries, complaints and compliments, suggestions, and observations.
  • Conduct internal audits, investigations, and risk assessments to measure success and promote action.
  • Provide technical expertise and key input for the HSEQ components in the preparation of Tender documentation.
  • Have input to the development of safety cases and associated documentation
  • Foster the ability to influence people by setting direction and providing sufficient communications to encourage buy-in and commitment at all levels. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of legislation, regulations, and codes of practice with respect to services that Allseas delivers.

What we expect from you

  • Degree in Safety Management, Environmental/Sustainability Engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and exposure to the safety case regime – particularly in the development of safety cases and submission to the regulators
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of health, safety and environment, preferably in the offshore/marine industry
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance 
  • Field experience offshore on large offshore construction projects and preferably on vessels supporting subsea activities
  • Trained in investigation methodologies and experienced in conducting incident investigations, preferably using TOPSET methodology 
  • Ability to train marine crew on QHSE matters
  • Strong document and report writing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills in discussions with clients, regulators, and an ability to engage with all levels, of the organisation
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO45001 and ISO 14001 systems
  • Ability to travel to vessels and to overseas locations dependent upon specific project requirements.
