Electrical and instrumentation (E&I) Designer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an E&I Designer with experience in industrial installations, preferably in the offshore or maritime industry, to join our Innovations Department in Delft, the Netherlands.

As part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team, you are supporting the design of our new and upgraded equipment throughout all engineering phases with drawing and documentation work. In this role, you work in a team together with multiple E&I Engineers.

Your role

The Innovations Department is focussed on developing innovative new technologies and processes that allows Allseas to stay ahead of the game and to play a key role in the world-wide energy transition. The E&I Unit is currently working on hybridisation of our in-house developed fleet, modification of existing vessels to make them suitable for installation of wind turbines and their sub-stations and development of new equipment for Allseas’ exiting new sub-sea activities.

As an E&I Designer, your role is focussed on the creation and maintenance of electrical documentation, mostly electrical drawings. The tasks can be summarized as follows;

• Create and update electrical installation details including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable and consumer lists
• Selection of equipment for the design of electrical cabinets
• Review and integrate designs, schematics, diagrams etc.
• Support multidisciplinary teams on E&I drawing- and documentation work
• Verify applicable engineering codes and standards

What we expect from you

• MBO or HBO degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• AutoCAD and EPLAN experience
• At least 3 years of working experience in a similar position
• Understanding of electrical power distribution and protection for low voltages (switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, lighting, automation cabinets)
• Understanding of Siemens-based automation hardware (PLC’s, Drives, RIO’s, etc)
• Ability to work independently, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Pro-active and self-motivated team player
• Able to work well in a high-pressure environment with continues changes
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
