The Pipeline Design Engineer works within the Pipeline Engineering Department, which is part of the Allseas organisation and prepares and provides support for the offshore pipelay campaigns. The work extends from the proposal phase to offshore installation. Within the Pipeline Engineering Department there are multiple disciplines, and each discipline contributes with the brightest minds to meet the project goals working as one team. Disciplines working in this department include design, structural, installation, testing and field engineering. In the project organisation the pipeline engineers are working in multidisciplinary teams where the individual can benefit from knowledge sharing while obtaining an in-depth understanding of the overall project engineering, preparations and execution.

Your role

We are currently looking for a Senior Pipeline Design Engineer that is ready for a new career step to join our Pipeline Engineering Department in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Your work involves engineering management and technical assurance of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary detailed design subcontractor who will perform the detailed design for execution of pipelay projects. Tasks include establishing the pipeline detailed design requirements, coordinating the design development, review of design deliverables and providing engineering support for procurement, fabrication and installation. Additionally you will be involved in risk assessments and interfacing with project management, installation and other disciplines within Allseas as applicable.

As Senior Design Engineer in a lead role, you will act as the focal point for detailed design engineering, which involves frequent interaction with external parties such as the client, verifying parties and subcontractors. As the engineering back office is located in Delft, the Netherlands and part of the engineering will be done in there, your coordination, communication and a self-starting mentality skill will be key for successful project engineering preparation.

What we expect from you

• BSc or MSc degree in Civil or Marine/Mechanical/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant subsea pipeline design experience.
• Good command of English both written and spoken.
• Relevant experience is required.
