ROV Support Engineer

The ROV Support Engineer works within the Unit ROV, part of the Technical Department (TD). The TD's objective is to efficiently manage the maintenance, repair and modifications of all vessels, yards and equipment, to provide the best technical service and support to the company on- and offshore and to stay ahead of the development of new techniques, changing rules and regulations and client wishes.

Your role

The ROV Support Engineer is responsible for the timely and effective set up, mobilisation/demobilisation of ROV equipment and/or subsea tooling on board Allseas' and/or third party vessels. He/she is also responsible for the maintenance and support of ROV systems and/or components and provides subsea tooling services and support within Allseas.

Specific tasks:

  • Prepare ROVs and related equipment for mobilisations/demobilisations and projects;
  • Organise and control the repair and maintenance (R&M) of ROVs and associated equipment including damage repair, modifications, life extending repairs and certification;
  • Prevent downtime of the ROV fleet in the widest sense of the word;
  • Work closely with ROV crews, Vessel Management Teams and other relevant disciplines;
  • Discuss ROV and subsea tooling requirements/activities on projects with Project and Engineering teams;
  • Ensure all equipment certification is complete and up-to-date;
  • Prepare and coordinate ROV tooling activities, including procedures and attendance at FAT and SIT, and monitor the tools being used in subsea activities;
  • Keep technical manuals up-to-date;

What we expect from you

  • Technical education degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with knowledge gained through experience in a nautical, naval or aircraft maintenance function;
  • ROV operational experience is preferred.

Preferred experience

  • Offshore (subsea) industry experience;
  • ROV and subsea tooling experience;
  • Experience with high voltage;
  • Solid experience with electronics, mechanics and hydraulics;
  • Experience with Diagnostic, fault-finding and repair;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
