Senior Heavy Lift Engineer

Allseas’ 382 m long, 124 m wide dynamically positioned platform installation/decommissioning and pipelay vessel Pioneering Spirit, formerly Pieter Schelte, was delivered at the end of 2014. The completed topsides lift and pipelay vessel will commence offshore operations in the second half of 2015.

Pioneering Spirit has a topsides lift capacity of 48,000 t and a jacket lift capacity of 25,000 t. Her pipelay tension capacity is 2000 t, doubling the capacity of Allseas’ Solitaire and thereby surpassing her as the world’s largest pipelay vessel.

In 2013 Allseas announced plans to build a second single-lift vessel larger than Pioneering Spirit, to be delivered in 2020. It is intended for installation and removal of the very largest existing platforms.

For our office in Delft, the Netherlands, we are currently looking for a Senior Heavy Lifting Engineer to support our Unit Heavy Lift Engineering. This unit is responsible for all project preparatory work in relation to Pioneering Spirit, including design, analysis, working procedures, material take-off and offshore engineering support.

Your role

• Produce analysis and procedures and raise the related material take offs;
• Perform discipline checks of the procedures and analysis;
• Read project specifications and provide feedback from an engineering perspective;
• Prepare the engineering planning for the project (procedures/analysis) together with the Lead Engineer and / or Unit Head for presentation to the project team;
• Establish the necessary engineering manpower to perform the onshore/offshore scope of work together with the Lead Engineer and / or Unit Head;
• Liaise with clients and subcontractors;
• Provide input to improve and develop standard procedures and working guidelines.

What we expect from you

• Minimum of BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent;
• 8 years experience with heavy lifting engineering;
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Willingness to travel.
