(Senior) Foreman Fitter

We are looking for a Senior Foreman Fitter with proven experience mentoring junior colleagues to run the shop floor activities at our dynamic fabrication site in Heijningen, the Netherlands. Apart from serving as a fabrication site, Heijningen also provides key services for other Allseas’ departments.

As a Senior Foreman Fitter, you will efficiently and effectively manage all shop floor activities in support of our fabrication projects to ensure delivery is on time and within budget. Furthermore, you will also be responsible for specific fitting projects and you will act as back-up for the shop manager. We are looking for an expert fitter with proven experience in working within an ISO quality management environment, preferably in the offshore and/or fabrication industry.

This challenging role offers the opportunity to manage and mentor a skilled workforce at a state-of-the-art fabrication site. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering technically complex assembly projects within the offshore and/or fabrication industry, proven supervisory experience and an innate ability to communicate openly and honestly at all levels.

Your role

• Manage all fitting activities in support of fabrication projects to ensure delivery is on time and within budget
• Inspect and monitor work
• Ensure completed work conforms to all technical and quality specifications and standards
• Provide problem-solving resource; perform repairs as required
• Observe and ensure adherence to all safety practices
• Prepare and manage work schedules
• Lead and coach junior fitters and, as required, contractors
• Check and monitor the quality of fabricated goods/parts/materials

What we expect from you

• Minimum MTS Engineering degree or equivalent
• Related fitting experience such as pressure vessel fitting, preferably in the offshore/fabrication industry
• 5+ years’ supervising experience, preferably in the offshore/fabrication industry
• Extensive experience of working within an ISO 9001 quality management environment
• Familiarity with industry standard codes such as AWS and DNV
• Good organiser and a helicopter view
• Good communicator with colleagues of different levels
• No 9-to-5 mentality, flexible in overtime when required
• Be able to motivate and create a positive atmosphere in the team
• Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken
