An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Controller with proven project control experience to join our Project Control Department, based in Delft, the Netherlands. Our Project Control Department acts as a service department to the projects undertaken by Allseas, providing both planning/scheduling expertise and cost analysis reports as input for the company’s overall performance reporting.

The Cost Controller is responsible for providing clear, accurate and insightful analysis and commentary on costs and revenues of commercial projects. The role includes cost controlling, forecasting, invoicing, undertaking detailed cost analysis and management reporting for assigned projects. Candidates will have the ability to successfully multi-task, possess strong communication skills and will be comfortable, flexible and experienced enough to be working in a fast moving and high paced environment.

Your role

  • Provide day to day cost control and administrative support to the project teams
  • Control the allocation, accuracy and completeness of all booked commitments and invoices in co-operation with the Project Manager and various operational and engineering departments
  • Prepare and submit client invoices
  • Support project teams with identification and calculation of variation orders
  • Prepare monthly forecast of expected costs and revenue for the remaining part of the project, analyse and explain the cost development and the main deviations from the project budget, and discuss with the Project Manager
  • Supply the Treasurer with a monthly cash flow forecast overview of costs and revenue
  • Contribute to the optimisation of processes and procedures within the department
  • Initiate and co-ordinate improvements specifically related to project cost control and administration

What we expect from you

  • BSc degree in Business Administration, Accountancy or similar
  • Minimum 3 years’ cost control experience, preferably in an offshore environment 
  • Track record in working on large scale projects 
  • Good knowledge of cost control techniques 
  • ERP software experience, preferably Oracle • Strong Excel skills 
  • Highly organised with a proactive, creative and hands on approach to challenges 
  • Dedicated and results driven 
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken 
  • Willingness to travel.
