We are looking for a high-energy, self-motivated and committed Financial Analyst to join our Project Accounting Department. Part of the Finance Department, the Project Accounting team drives the whole financial planning and analysis cycle for Allseas. As a capital-intensive company, we invest heavily in our vessels and other assets, so capex control is key to business performance. The Financial Analyst plays a key role here, collaborating with all departments to understand business spend and performance, setting budgets and forecasts with a strong focus on cash flow.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Office systems in a busy, international work environment, and be able to demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, problem solving and organisational skills. Our Project Accounting team is split across the engineering and project management centre in Delft, the Netherlands and the financial and commercial headquarters in Châtel-Saint-Denis, Switzerland. The role is based in Delft, but candidates must be willing to travel in Europe for 10% of the time.

Your role

  • Capex control:
  • 1. Create and maintain capital expenditure plan
  • 2. Improve the capitalisation process to ensure fixed assets are accurately and adequately reflected in the books
  • 3. Improve the capital expenditure planning process by developing an online tool to better track investment projects and understand the financing needs
  • Follow-up office overhead costs in co-ordination with Department Heads and Unit Heads.
  • Support the management and reporting of man-hours
  • Take part in the quarterly closing: calculation of the project percentage of completion (commercial projects) and the transfer to construction in progress (capex projects)
  • Ensure reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner
  • Suggest and support improvement initiatives within the Finance Department

What we expect from you

  • BSc degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial controlling, preferably in an industrial environment with international exposure
  • Proactive and results driven
  • Hands-on approach
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Good English proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP)
  • Ready to travel in Europe up to 10% of the time
