An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join our highly skilled, multidisciplinary Innovations Department in Delft, the Netherlands. Structural Engineers are responsible for the structural development and design of new and/or modified equipment for Allseas pipelay vessels. From design to fabrication to commissioning, you are involved in the whole development process.

Your role

  • Analyse and prepare project specifications for construction, conversion and modification of vessels, lifting appliances, stingers and pipelay equipment in co-operation with other departments 
  • Prepare design calculations (and reports) for all structural design work within scope, budget and schedule
  • Identify the risks and consequences of the vessel or equipment related to the strength/ stability/safety/class approval, etc.
  • Perform detailed calculations using FEM analysis
  • Prepare plans and procedures for the installation and inspection of equipment and discuss these procedures with the project team and the offshore personnel responsible for the execution 
  • You are creative and stress-resistant, takes initiative and have analytic skills 
  • You will report to your Department Head and will liaise with project teams, subcontractors, crew, clients and certification authorities

What we expect from you

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering
  • 1-3 years’ relevant work experience
  • Able to work well in a high pressure environment 
  • Self-starter with creative and analytical skills 
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken 
  • Willingness to work offshore occasionally
