We are currently looking for a dynamic and ambitious ROV Support Engineer to join our Technical Department in Delft, the Netherlands. The department’s mission is to manage the maintenance, repair and modifications of Allseas’ vessels, yards and equipment, to provide technical expertise and first class support on and offshore, and to stay ahead of the development of new techniques, changing rules, regulations and client wishes.

The ROV Support Engineer is responsible for the timely and effective set up, mobilisation/demobilisation of Allseas’ ROV equipment and subsea tooling. The ideal candidate has knowledge of subsea structures and associated subsea activities, in is highly skilled with electronics, mechanics and hydraulics. Previous offshore experience with ROV systems/tooling packs and operations is necessary for this role.

Your role

  • Prevent downtime of the ROV fleet in the widest sense of the word
  • Prepare and test ROVs and related equipment for mobilisations/demobilisations
  • Organise and monitor R&M of ROVs and associated equipment including damage repair, modifications, life extending repairs and certification
  • Monitor the execution and administration of maintenance for all ROV equipment
  • Liaise with ROV crew, Vessel Management Teams and other relevant disciplines
  • Assist with procurement of all necessary ROV equipment, spares and consumables
  • Discuss ROV and subsea tooling requirements/activities with the project teams and Engineering Department
  • Update Project Surveyor and Unit Head ROV on all ROV equipment issues
  • Run ROV workshop and perform workshop repairs, including testing and calibration of equipment
  • Monitor and control ROV and subsea tooling systems stock levels by identifying critical equipment and required spares, ensuring equipment on board vessel(s) is complete
  • Ensure all equipment certification is complete and up-to-date
  • Liaise with Allseas departments and subcontractors (ROV tooling companies) to deliver tooling
  • Provide input for tenders and proposals with details on ROV tooling
  • Prepare and co-ordinate ROV tooling activities, including procedures and FAT and SIT attendance
  • Keep ROV tooling library, tooling matrix and technical manuals up-to-date

What we expect from you

  • BSc degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with sufficient knowledge gained through experience in a nautical, naval or air force function
  • FMC Subsea School, Oceaneering or similar training is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the offshore survey industry, preferably with pipeline and/or subsea construction projects
  • Knowledge of production engineering and design with additional knowledge of wellheads, workover system and tie-ins is preferred
  • Experience working with ROVs and all possible tooling packs
  • Offshore tooling support or maintenance experience, preferably in a Tooling Engineer or Tooling Supervisor role
  • Experience with subsea structures like manifolds, x-trees, pipelines etc.
  • Solid experience with electronics, mechanics, hydraulics and high voltage
  • Diagnostic, fault-finding and repair capabilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook, AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
