We are currently looking for a dynamic and ambitious Technical Inspector (Mechanical) to join our Technical Department in Delft, the Netherlands. The department’s mission is to manage the maintenance, repair and modifications of Allseas’ vessels, yards and equipment, to provide technical expertise and first class support on and offshore, and to stay ahead of the development of new techniques, changing rules, regulations and client wishes.

The Technical Inspector (Mechanical) participates in the day-to-day technical management of vessels and equipment, assisting the on-board Technical Superintendent and vessel crew with repairs, maintenance and modifications. The ideal candidate is a pressure-resistant team player, with a creative attitude and eye for detail. We are looking for a determined, stress-resistant self-starter who can adapt quickly, and do everything necessary to get the job done. Is that you?

Your role

  • Support the Technical Superintendents and the Vessel Management Teams
  • Familiarise with Allseas’ applications in Oracle such as plant maintenance system and stock control
  • Monitor stock of spare parts required for projects under your responsibility
  • Investigate possible cost reductions and propose or implement savings without adversely impacting vessel uptime
  • Prepare detailed budgets for approval for modifications and investments, and control these during execution and report actuals after project completion
  • Liaise with flag state and classification society as required
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with other departments and third party suppliers
  • Keep technical documentation and history about vessel and equipment up to date

What we expect from you

  • BSc/MSc degree in Marine Technology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience within the offshore, dredging, construction or shipbuilding industry
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of classification agencies and IMO
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Accurate, flexible and cost-aware professional with a creative attitude
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad or offshore
