Assignment: Research various continuous integration environments.

Our software team in Eindhoven is in the process of improving its overall workflow. A proper continuous integration environment selection and configuration plays an important role in this process. 

We are looking for students with a healthy interest in software tools to help us research various build servers (Jenkins, TeamCity, TFS, Bamboo), issues trackers (Jira, TFS, GitHub), Wiki solutions (Confluence, SharePoint), and source control systems (Git/Mercurial HG).

You do not have to be an expert, but we do expect an eagerness to learn, try, fail and explore.

Your role

• Research various continuous integration environments
• Implement (one or more) proof-of-concept continuous integration environments
• Validate the usability with Visual Studio 2017 (C# and .NET 4.6 framework)
• Port our existing algorithms to various parallel computing implementations
• Discuss your findings and conclusions with the software team
• Follow Agile (Scrum/Kanban) engineering practices

What we expect from you

• B.Eng., BSc or MSc student with a background in Computer Science or equivalent
• Self-critical and self-correcting
• Eagerness to learn, try, fail and explore
• Team player in a multidisciplinary environment
• Affinity with software tools and continuous integration environments
• Good command the English language, both written and spoken

Beneficial experience

• C# and the .NET framework is preferred
• Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• Git/Mercurial HG
